Located at 1111 South Figueroa Street, the Staples Center is a fun family tourist attraction. Open since 1999, the Staples Center sports arena is the only arena home to five professional sports teams. The teams include: The LA Lakers (basketball), the LA Clippers (basketball), the LA Sparks (women’s basketball), The LA Kings (hockey), and the LA Avengers (arena football). Obviously, if you’re a sports fan, this is a great place to visit once or as many times as you can for events. The chances are pretty good that you’ll catch an event most days of the week—250 of them are hosted there every year. The Staples Center has also been host to the Latin Grammy awards, the American Grammy awards, numerous concerts, the Democratic National Convention, and many World Wrestling Entertainment Events.

If you do plan to visit the Staples Center, there are some things to keep in mind. There are 20,000 parking spaces available around the arena, within a 7-10 minute walk. Arrive early for more options but expect traffic when leaving, as people tend to leave around the same time. Disabled persons services are available—check with Guest Services for more information. Bags larger than 14 inches square will be prohibited from being brought into the arena. Flash cameras are not allowed. Children two years of age and younger are admitted free to Staples events, provided they sit on an adult lap and not on a seat. Finally, remember that doors open between 1 or 1 ½ hours prior to event start times.
